Vegas via “Small Town America”

Allegiant AirFor anyone who is unaware of Allegiant Air your missing a true gem! They are a low cost airline carrier that services smaller secondary markets with direct flights to major tourist destinations. Their main hubs are Las Vegas and Orlando. I have personally traveled from Las Vegas to; Rapid City, SD, Billings, MT, Idaho Falls, ID and Bellingham, WA. This airline has an amazing business model! There are so many people from “Small Town America” that have lots of reason to come here to Las Vegas. In the past potential visitor have been left to choose a VERY expensive plane fare on a “Puddle Jumper” or hours in a car. Allegiant has opened up a whole new market for Vegas.

There is however something else that Allegiant has created that is an unexpected reality of their existence! I have experienced an exodus from Las Vegas back to “Small Town America.” People have made their fortunes here and are heading back to a slower pace and the rural life. It is almost as easy to commute to Vegas for less than $200 than it is to live here! With the ease of communication in this information age all that has been missing is the ease of travel. Allegiant has connected the missing link! It will be very interesting to watch them grow, they had their IPO in May of this year! I’m sure there are only great things to come.
