Vegas Grand Prix

WOW! The face of Downtown Las Vegas made a huge change this past weekend! From April 6th to 8th Vegas was host to the fist downtown Champ Car road course race. This was my first time to see this type of race, much different than the more popular NASCAR. The city spent the last 30 days getting everything set with lots of street being closed due to the barricades and fencing. I’ve heard it is going to take another 30 days to get everything back to normal. There is lot of bitching and complaining about the inconvenience, I’m a little shocked more people don’t see the benefits an event like this brings to our city, can you say “Show Me the Money!” Friday night there was a huge party on Fremont Street, I had a great time. Where else can you go to a FREE concert that included Chris Cornell and Big & Rich! Then off to the Golden Gate for a 99cent shrimp cocktail. The only thing that could have made it better was if I could have walked home! Next year there are going to be lots of people who can as some of the new high-rise condos will be finished in the area! What a town!
