Ten Biggest Mistakes Made by Home Buyers–#10

Well we’ve made it all the way to number 10, if you follow my advice and avoid these 10 mistakes you will save lots of money and feel great about your new home! So on to…
Mistake #10 Buyers don’t get a home warranty.
Would you buy a car without getting a warranty? I think not! Even if you go to “Swifty’s Used Cars” you are going to want at least a short-term warranty to make sure that by the time you get home you don’t have to call a tow-truck! So why should a house be any different? I’ve purchased homes in many different states and the local custom is always different, but my advice is, GET A WARRANTY! It’s not going to cover everything but it will sure make that first year of home ownership a lot easier to deal with and then you can extend it for another year if you find it useful. Where would you rather spend your hard earned money, on a new plasma TV or fixing the water heater? I guess you can tell what my answer would be, I may be a bit biased but I’ve found they save me money in the long run. I recently had a house that we were “Fixing-up” here in Green Valley after a tenant moved out and I bet I used my warranty a half-dozen times; it saved me lots of money! So when you get ready to buy, remember, Tim says, “Get a Warranty!”
